Munchies & Shakes is a café and restaurant based in Calabar, Cross River State, Nigeria. We operate this website to allow customers to browse our menu, place food orders, make table reservations, create an account, and get in touch with us.

By using our website or services, you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this policy.

2. Information We Collect

We only collect information you provide directly to us. This includes:

Food Orders

When you place an order, we collect your full name, phone number, email address, delivery address (Calabar, Cross River State only), order details, and payment method.

When you make a reservation, we collect your name, phone number, email address, preferred date, time, number of guests, occasion, and any special requests.

Contact Messages

When you send us a message via the contact form, we collect your name, email address, phone number, subject, and message content.

Job Applications

When you apply for a position, we collect your name, phone number, email address, preferred role, experience level, personal statement, and optionally a CV or portfolio link.

Customer Accounts

When you create an account, we collect your name, email address, phone number, and password (stored securely using Supabase Auth). We track your order history and loyalty points to power account features.

We do not collect payment card details directly. Online payments are processed securely by Paystack (see Section 5).

3. How We Use Your Information

  • To process and fulfil your food orders and notify you of their status
  • To confirm and manage your table reservation
  • To respond to your contact messages and enquiries
  • To review and follow up on job applications
  • To power your account features: order history, loyalty points, and profile management
  • To improve our menu, service, and customer experience
  • To contact you if there is an issue with your order or booking
  • To send promotional updates if you opted in during signup

We do not use your information for unsolicited marketing or sell it to any third party.

4. How We Store Your Data

Your information is stored in two places:

Your Browser (localStorage)

Order history, reservation details, and cart data are saved locally in your browser so you can track your order and booking status. This data stays on your device.

Our Secure Database (Supabase)

Orders, reservations, messages, applications, and account data are stored in our Supabase database. Data is protected with row-level security. Access is restricted to authorised staff only.

5. Third-Party Services

  • Supabase — our backend database and authentication provider. Data is stored on servers within their infrastructure.
  • Paystack — payment processing. When you pay online, you are interacting with Paystack's secure payment system. We do not receive or store your card details.
  • Google Fonts — we load fonts from Google's CDN to style our website.
  • Cloudflare Pages — our website is hosted on Cloudflare, which may process requests through their global network.

6. Cookies & Local Storage

We use your browser's localStorage to save your cart, order history, and preferences. We use session-based authentication cookies for logged-in accounts. We do not use third-party advertising or tracking cookies.

7. Your Rights

  • You may request a copy of the personal data we hold about you.
  • You may request deletion of your account and associated data.
  • You may opt out of promotional communications at any time.
  • You may clear your local browser storage at any time.

8. Children's Privacy

Our services are not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has submitted information to us, please contact us to have it removed.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will post the updated policy on this page with a revised date. Continued use of our services after any changes constitutes your acceptance of the new policy.
